Morning meeting
We chose 'Rainbow relaxation' to start our day today. It is a good way to get students' attention and help them focus.
Moving from one place to the other
The learning outcome of the session was to analyze the ways we adapt when we move from one place to the other. Ms. Chetna shared a link for one group to listen to an audiobook discussing migration due to climate change. The other group watched the story 'My name is not Refugee'. Post-reading students shared different ways in which we adapt when we move from one place to the other by posting in the chatbox. Ms. Chetna shared a Jamboard for us to share personal connections. How did we adapt when we had to migrate, even when we migrated internally. There is only one child in the class who has never moved from the time he was born, so he chose to share his thoughts considering what if he had to migrate.
Division
We worked in two breakout rooms. One group practised multiplication table for 3 and the other attempted to solve problems shared on screen. After yesterday's session using countable today, Ms.Chetna advised us to solve the problem in the notebook. Most of us relied on pictorial representation to calculate. She shared the whiteboard to explain the steps. We are working on division which is a new concept for all of us hence she will post some problems in the blog for us to work on.
Reading with the specialist
Today Ms. Laila couldn't join us for this session. Hence, after one group left with Ms. Farida to a breakout room rest of us did independent reading, working on our assignments. Next to that, Ms. Chetna did some read-aloud for us. As a follow-up, we wrote our views about the actions of the main character in the story.
Developing growth mindset
Ms. Chetna explained that we are working on Personal, social, and emotional development. We started with a dance video talking about the power of yet! We discussed this further and framed our personal goals using the word bank shared on screen. We discussed in breakout rooms why is it important to believe in ourselves? After returning to the main session we shared views on - Is it important to believe in others? by posting in the chatbox.
We ended our day with a story emphasizing - never giving up.
