Reduce consumerism 

We had celebrated reduce consumerism day where each child got three things that were not used anymore and in turn, could take one item of their choice. 

 

Reflection of the field trip 

We used a new strategy to reflect where students had to share the purpose of the visit, identify something they found particularly creative, for whom was this place created, and connect it to creativity expressed by them or someone else.

 Students use the choice board created by them after finishing the task at hand.

Guided reading 

Students read the assigned book in their groups. This time they had the opportunity to select the follow-up activity by picking a task card. This encouraged them to think critically which prompt would connect to the book they had read. 

Sowing the seeds

As a part of the earth day celebration, we sow the seeds in eggshells or coconut shells. Students had fun as well as understood the process. We discussed understanding the benefits of using eggshells and coconut shells for planting.
