Sustainable community

Morning meeting
Today's morning meeting was in collaboration with Grade 2A. We shared the new learnings about communities from the previous guest sessions. We discussed the essential agreements for the upcoming guest session.

Sustainable community
Mr. George joined us from Indonesia, Bali to help us look around his school 'Green school'. He explained how they are a green community. The material they use to build houses, the fuel used in school buses and the food they eat, etc. We got to see a lot of greenery around him and could connect to the concept of interdependence discussed earlier. It was an exciting session as we got to see many things around him. He also suggested ways for us to play our role in making our community sustainable. The most significant one was reducing the use of plastic.

Reflection
Working on the learning outcome recall information from experiences, we shared our learning from the two guest sessions. We used two different thinking tools - think, puzzle, explore and the explanation game - name it, explain it, give reasons to share our thoughts on the Padlet.

Money
Students were ready with the information on how do currencies from different countries vary from each other. We annotated the whiteboard to share our thoughts. Students shared samples of different currencies. Ms. Chetna told us to calculate the money we have and share it in the chat.  Ms. Chetna shared her screen to show a problem where we had to add 50 paise and 70 paise. Students could sum it up to 120 paise. We will next discuss the value of a rupee.

Mindfulness
We ended the day with mindfulness.
