Morning meeting
Our happy Monday started with a messaged by Dr. Long. to day he shared about one of teh AK strands - Pluralism by taking an adaptor as an example. He explained that just like an adaptor which uses different parts to work well with the different kinds of sockets in different countries, we should also adapt ourselves to different situations without being judgemental.
Takeaways from the reading for the weekend
This weekend's book was based on different kinds of plants all over rteh world. Students shared different takeaways like specific things about the plants and the idea that different plants grow in different places. Many of us have missed reading the book. Ms. Chetna encouraged us to read it today with an adult as it has many new words.
New word
Some of us were confused about teh exact meaning of the word Pluralism. Ms. Chetna suggested that all of us should refer to a dictionary in such situations but in case we don't have a dictionary at home, we can refer to Google. She shared her screen to help us learn how to look for the meaning of a new word. We could also listen to the pronunciation. To this Kiarash mentioned that he learned a new word from the book read over teh weekend - Moisture. We used Google to look for teh meaning and annotated teh white board to frame sentences with the same.
Word wall
Ms. Chetna shared how she keeps a record of teh new words she learns and encouraged us to maintain a word wall for teh same. She shared images of some word walls and insisted that we should start with our wordwall today.
Revisting addition- 3 digit with single digit number without renaming
Ms. Chetna shared an image depicting the addition problem and the students solved it using the strategy of their choice. We worked through this in breakoutrooms so that we can clarify teh doubts with Ms. Laila and Ms. Chetna.
After this we moved o to adding 3 digit with 2 digit number. Ms. Chetna gave us four digits for us to choose any three and create a 3-digit number. The n we had to create a 2-digit number by adding a zero at the ones place of the digit left . Based on their choice, all the students framed different numbers. We had to add these number to get the sum. They shared the solution by showing the notebook to the screen. Ms. Chetna helped us realise that we can master these concepts only if we refer to the blog every day and practice the concepts bring discussed in class.
Unit end celebration
We used this lessons to help students recall the concepts learned in the unit on leadership. After listing down the concepts, students found it easy to choose what they wanted to share about during the unit end celebration. We must share the videos with Ms. Chetna by the end of the day.
