One small positive thought can change your whole day. - Zig Ziglar
Morning meeting
Students started the day by asking riddles. It was fun to guess the answers.
Main idea
Ms. Laila started the session by sharing some songs and students had to share what were the songs about. This was easy for most of us. Songs brightened our morning. Then she shared a story through a video. In the breakout rooms, we discussed our thoughts about the main idea of that story. Students could come up with many different thoughts shared in the story and later brought it down to one basic message. After coming back to the main session she encouraged us to recall the learning engagements done on this unit and analyze what could be the main idea of this unit. We will share our thoughts about it on Monday. We ended the session with a game.
Discussion by Student council member
Rishaan discussed with the class details of the student council meeting and sought suggestions on how can the sessions become more interesting for all. Students shared thoughtful ideas which he noted down.
Student-led sessions
Ruhaan instructed us on how to make a medal using paper. He guided us with what to draw and the kind of colours that can be used. Ms. Chetna added that we could use these medals for self-appreciation, connecting it to yesterday's discussion on 'how can I become a role model'.
Meera led the session on rakhi making. She was ready with the material and gave crisp instructions for everyone to follow.
SEL
Ms. Latha started the session by checking if everyone was ready with their jars and chits of paper. Most of us were ready. Today she shared exercise for the mind. It was useful to know different exercises could help us when we are angry, sad, anxious, fidgety, or tired. We followed the video she shared. Next to that, we played a quiz. Ms. Latha shared her screen for us to identify the feelings expressed by different emojis. Most of our guesses were accurate. Some of us were confused about what embarrassment was. Students shared examples to help their peers understand. Ms. Latha gave us prompts to write positive things on the chits we were ready with We wrote:
- Three positive words
- Good things I plan to do
- An act of kindness I did
- Things that I am grateful for
- People I am thankful for
- Feelings I am grateful for
Ms. Chetna reminded us to complete our pending Seesaw tasks and share our research about the person who inspires us through padlet shared.
