Guest Session
The day started with a guest session by a young achiever. Adarsh is a grade 9 student who runs an online business of baking cakes. He shared his story talking about how did it start and the challenges he faced. He encouraged the students to learn from their mistakes by giving his own example and sharing pictures of the same. After returning to our own class we reflected on the session through the strategy 'Connect - Extend - Challenge'. Students annotated the whiteboard to share their thoughts.
Dr. Long's message
Today's message by Dr. long could be connected to many things like being mindful, being a problem solver, cooperation, and so on. We choose to connect it to any one of the attributes of the learner profile. Students shared their connection b posting in the chatbox. This made us realize that some of the new students are not aware of the learner profile attributes. Ms. Chetna suggested the existing students to take charge. They will come prepared with any one attribute of their choice, in the form of a story/ through a picture or just a verbal discussion, and share in the class tomorrow.
My role model
Ms. Chetna shared the screen to share the Padlet 'My inspiration'. We realized that not many of us have started thinking and researching about the person who has inspired them. To make us apply our thinking skills she proposed a game. We were grouped using breakout rooms where we had to think of the person who has inspired us and gives clues to the other two students in the group to guess who are we talking about. This provoked students to think about someone whom they might want to consider a role model. Ms. Chetna shared examples from the books we have read. She insisted that we must research - read/ talk to adults/ watch videos/ news which might help us think about people and their actions. We must add details to the Padlet today itself.

Skip counting
We ended our day with a game using skip counting. Ms. Chetna called out our names one by one and we had to tell the next number after skipping. We practiced 2, 5, and 10.

Hello! Rishaan was inspired to learn from his mistakes from today's guest speaker. He told me he was unable to connect to the theme initially and thought it was about baking delicious cakes, however after reflecting he was able to understand Adarsh's values and beliefs. He also enjoyed the JS Assembly celebrations. Thank You!
